You may already have a file or two there. Most of us do.
What started as a dream became a page in my art journal. Then something unexpected happened.
People reacted! They laughed and many asked for a copy. Because underneath the humor, we all recognized something familiar. We all have parts of ourselves we've judged, hidden, apologized for or wished were different.
The Shame Department helps us see those parts with a curious and even compassionate eye rather than the cringe of regret.
Because the most powerful thing we can do is accept ourselves and say: "Oh, that? That belongs in the Shame Department."
A playful collage experience where you'll meet and learn to love (or at least live with) the workers in your Shame Department.
(No artistic talent required. A sense of humor is highly recommended.)
Somewhere inside all of us lives a people pleaser, a perfectionist, an overthinker and a catastrophizer. And probably the part of you that still wakes up at 2 a.m. remembering something embarrassing you did in 1998.
In this playful, hands-on workshop, you'll meet the quirky cast of characters that make up your own inner Shame Department. With scissors, glue sticks and magazine images, we'll use collage to bring these hidden parts into the light.
Because it's surprisingly hard to take your inner perfectionist seriously once you realize she's just Carol, Director of Impossible Standards, with her clipboard and sensible shoes.
You'll leave with a few new friends, a lighter heart and a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
